Anholt Rundt is a summer race on one of Denmark's most remote islands. The 10 km, half and marathon follow beaches and sandy tracks — a full lap of the island is almost a marathon along the sea. Anholt is called 'Denmark's desert': the eastern part is the Ørkenen heath, seals live on the Totten point and there are hardly any cars. It is reached by ferry from Grenaa, so the race easily becomes a mini-holiday.
