The Badener Sparkassen Stadtlauf is a June city race in Baden bei Wien, with a half marathon, 10 km and 5 km. Runners start on Erzherzog-Rainer-Ring and follow Kaiser-Franz-Ring and Wiener Straße past Biedermeier façades to a finish on Grüner Markt in the heart of town. The course is flat and quick, and the finish has the feel of a town festival. Baden is a famous thermal spa and one of UNESCO's Great Spa Towns of Europe, known for its Kurpark, casino, Beethoven house, thermal baths and Heuriger wine taverns among the vineyards of the Thermenregion.
