Běhej lesy Karlštejn opens the series season: in 2026 it took place on 11 April beneath the walls of Gothic Karlštejn Castle, 30 km from Prague. Běhej lesy ('Run the Forests') is a series of eight trail races in the Czech Republic's most beautiful natural spots, with distances from 3 to 50 km, Dr. Max kids' races and an overall 'Lord and Lady of the Forest' ranking; the state forestry company Lesy ČR is its founding partner. The courses wind through the forests and limestone valleys of the Bohemian Karst reserve, climbing to viewpoints where the castle looks like a postcard. Spring nature, proximity to Prague and big fields make it one of the most popular stages. Karlštejn means Charles IV's castle, once home to the crown jewels, the 'Big America' quarry with its turquoise lake and the vineyards of the Berounka valley.
