Běhej lesy Železná Ruda is the series' September stage in the Šumava: on 19 September 2026 it drew a record 1,788 runners over 5, 13 and 18 km. Běhej lesy ('Run the Forests') is a series of eight trail races in the Czech Republic's most beautiful natural spots, with distances from 3 to 50 km, Dr. Max kids' races and an overall 'Lord and Lady of the Forest' ranking; the state forestry company Lesy ČR is its founding partner. The courses run through the Šumava forests, among Central Europe's great mountain woodlands, past glacial lakes and mountain meadows near the German border, with real but runnable climbs. The vibe is family-friendly and festive, with kids' races and a race village. Železná Ruda offers the Devil's and Black lakes, the Pancíř and Špičák lifts and a Baroque church with an onion dome.
