Fjordkraft Bergen City Marathon

Fjordkraft Bergen City Marathon takes place in late April and turns the 'city between seven mountains' into a big running party. There is a marathon, half marathon, 5 km and a children's race, so marathoners and families line up alike. Start and finish are by the colourful wooden warehouses of Bryggen, and the course runs through Old Bergen and along the water, with steep ups and downs and fjord views: not a fast course, but never a dull one. Spring in Bergen can bring sunshine or the city's famous rain, but the crowds on the streets keep you warm either way. Bergen offers the fish market, the Fløibanen funicular up Mount Fløyen, Grieg's home at Troldhaugen and the gateway to Norway's most beautiful fjords.
