Bieg Konstytucji 3 Maja is a traditional 5 km race held by the Warsaw Marathon Foundation every 3 May, the anniversary of Poland's 1791 Constitution, and draws thousands of runners. Start and finish are on Nowy Świat, and the course crosses the Vistula twice on the Poniatowski Bridge, passing the National Museum, the Polish Army Museum, the National Stadium and the Saska Kępa beach. It is fast and spectacular, and finishers get a commemorative medal featuring a quill — a nod to the signing of the constitution. Together with the Warsaw Uprising Run and the Independence Run it forms Warsaw's patriotic running 'triathlon'. Afterwards: the Royal Route, the Old Town, Wilanów Palace and a stroll along the Vistula boulevards.
An easy run with a local club the day before the race — the best way to shake out the legs and meet the city.
