BOclassic (the San Silvestro run) has been held in Bolzano on 31 December since 1975 and ranks among Europe's most prestigious New Year's Eve races: the world elite races laps around the medieval Waltherplatz (a men's 10K and a women's 5K). Alongside runs the amateur BOclassic Ladurner over about 5 km — anyone can run or walk the same circuit. The snowy Dolomites and the Christmas market give it a special atmosphere.
