The Bodensee Frauenlauf is a women-only summer evening race in Bregenz, where thousands of runners pick either 5 km or 10 km. The 10 km starts at the Kaiserstrand in Lochau and the whole course hugs the shore of Lake Constance, passing beaches, the old military bathing house, Bregenz harbour and the famous Seebühne floating stage before finishing in town. A live-music after-run party follows, and children have races of their own. Bregenz is home to the opera festival on the lake, the Pfänder cable car with views over Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and Peter Zumthor's Kunsthaus.
