Bohermeen AC's half marathon takes place on a March Sunday near Navan and draws more than 1,500 runners — one of the biggest road races in the region. It has deep roots: the main prize, the Rennicks Cup, has been contested since the 1970s, first in cross-country and on the road since the early 2000s, while the women's Fr Delaney Cup honours a former parish priest. The course loops through the country roads of County Meath via Newline and Ongenstown, with HQ at the village community centre, and the race doubles as the Meath road championship. Meath is the Boyne Valley, with the Neolithic tombs of Newgrange and Knowth, the Hill of Tara and Trim Castle.
