The Winter Trail Run Bohinj is a winter trail race at the Soriška planina ski area above Bohinj, part of the Bohinj ski touring festival; in 2026 it took place on 7 March. The course is a 6 km snow loop with about 300 m of climbing: runners choose one, two or three laps — 6, 12 or 18 km — and everyone starts together. It is not technical and suits anyone with basic trail experience, with refreshments and spectators at the base of the slope on every lap. It is run by the team behind the Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB and the Ultra Trail Vipava Valley, and the vibe is relaxed, with runners and ski tourers mingling. Bohinj means a glacial lake in Triglav National Park, the Savica waterfall, the Vogel cable car and its famous local cheese.
