The Connemara 100 is an August ultramarathon of 100 miles (161 km), starting at 6am in Clifden. The certified road loop passes Letterfrack, Lettergesh, Maam Cross, Leenane, Roundstone and Ballyconneely, crossing the Inagh Valley twice — all on the Wild Atlantic Way. Around you: lakes, bogland, the Twelve Bens and the Maumturks, and ahead a day and a night alone with the wind and your own mind. Clifden is the 'capital of Connemara' — the Sky Road above the ocean, Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey and fresh seafood.
