historicpoint to pointregional
The Córdoba-Almodóvar del Río Half Marathon is one of Andalusia's oldest half marathons, marking its 40th edition in 2026. It starts at the monumental gate of Madinat al-Zahra, the 10th-century caliphal palace-city near Córdoba, and the route passes through Villarrubia and Los Mochos before finishing in Almodóvar del Río, known for its medieval castle overlooking the Guadalquivir River. Córdoba itself is famed for the Mezquita-Catedral, a former mosque turned cathedral, and its historic Jewish quarter, La Judería.
