Now in its fourth edition, the Maratón Dany Sport Corralejo Grandes Playas takes place in Corralejo, on the northern tip of Fuerteventura, a resort town famous for its vast golden Grandes Playas beaches and the adjoining dune nature park. The course runs along the coastline and partly through the Corralejo dunes, a protected area of roughly 2,600 hectares designated a natural park since 1994. The event offers distances from 5K up to the full marathon and draws both locals and the island's many tourists.
