The Course de Noël in Sion is the 'doyenne' of Swiss city races (57th edition in 2026), held in December in the historic centre of the Valais capital below its two famous castle hills, Valère and Tourbillon. The pre-Christmas programme features elite and popular starts, a 5 km women's race and a 7 km men's race, a 3 km popular run, plus children's and Santa runs. Hilly old-town lanes, lights and a festive mood in sunny, wine-growing Valais. The separate 'Trail des Châteaux' is a trail and is not part of this entry.
