La Cursa El Corte Inglés has been run in Barcelona since 1979 and has grown into Spain's largest 10K, with up to 50,000 runners taking to the start line every year completely free of charge, thanks to sponsorship from the department store chain and the city council. The course starts on the wide Avinguda Diagonal right outside the El Corte Inglés store and runs along some of the city's broadest avenues, including Passeig de Gràcia and Gran Via, before finishing at Plaça Catalunya. Its flat profile and generous road width make it one of the fastest 10K circuits in Barcelona, drawing both personal-best hunters and thousands of families and first-time runners. The race traditionally opens Catalonia's spring racing season and supports a different charitable foundation each year.

The course profile is very favorable: you run on extremely wide streets from the start, with separate time-based waves, so there's barely any congestion — a great chance to test yourself against the clock.
