Cyprus Road Races Grand Prix — Limassol

The Limassol stage of the Cyprus Road Races Grand Prix takes place in late September in the Amathounta area on the city's eastern edge, opening a series that moves on to Paphos, Larnaca, Strovolos and Protaras. There are 10 km and 5 km races, a corporate 5 km, a 1 km kids' race and a family run, so everyone from PB-hunters to parents with children has a start line. The course is flat and fast along the coast, close to the ruins of the ancient city-kingdom of Amathus. It feels like a friendly gathering of the local running community, with points counting towards the overall series standings. Limassol offers the Molos seafront, a medieval castle and old town, and wine villages in the hills above famous for Commandaria.
