Dalmacija Ultra Trail takes place in October and has run since at least 2016, making it the flagship trail race of central Dalmatia. The longest distance, Mountain DUT (104 km, +4,450 m), starts at Klis Fortress and crosses the Mosor, Omiška Dinara, Kozjak, Biokovo and Primorska Kosa ranges; there are also 56 km from Makarska, 29 km from Žrnovnica, 19 km from the Radmanove Mlinice mills and an easy 10 km. The routes link mountains with the Cetina, Žrnovnica and Jadro river valleys, and every race finishes on Omiš city beach. Rocky karst trails and views over the sea and islands make it tough and spectacular in equal measure. Omiš is a former pirate town at the mouth of the Cetina canyon, with the Mirabella and Fortica fortresses, and Split's Diocletian's Palace is just up the coast.
