Dolomitica Run is the Val Rendena half marathon in Trentino, held in September with a non-competitive 10 km as well. Runners gather in Piazza San Giacomo in Pinzolo, and the course then follows the paved valley cycle path all the way down: Carisolo, the meadows between Giustino and Caderzone, Strembo, views of the Adamello glaciers and woods along the Sarca river. The finish is a stadium lap at the Sesena sports centre in Tione di Trento, followed by a pasta party, with shuttles back to Pinzolo. It is a love letter to the valley, created together with local communities. In Pinzolo, see the 'Dance of Death' fresco on the church of San Vigilio, with Madonna di Campiglio and the Adamello Brenta park close by.
