The East Coast Trail takes place in spring near Sæby on North Jutland's east coast: 10 km and a half marathon through woods, coastal paths and hills by the Kattegat. It is an intimate trail race for those who want to try off-road running without extreme distances. Sæby is a cosy seaside town with an old centre, a harbour and a monastery church with frescoes; Frederikshavn and ferries to Norway and Sweden are nearby.
