The Eden Project Marathon and Half Marathon take place in October and have long been a fixture of the British calendar, developed with St Austell Running Club. The hilly, multi-terrain routes loop around Eden's famous biomes, through old mining heritage and the striking landscapes of Cornwall's Clay Country. Finishers get a themed medal, a pasty and a beer, plus free Eden Project entry for runners and their families. Cornwall adds fishing harbours such as Fowey and Mevagissey, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and walks on the South West Coast Path.
