250
The Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB takes place in mid-July in Grindelwald and is one of the most spectacular trail races in the Alps, part of the UTMB World Series. The choice is huge, from 16 and 35 km to 51 and 101 km, and the toughest take on the E250, 250 km through the mountains of the Bernese Oberland. The courses run beneath the Eiger North Face, the Mönch and the Jungfrau, over passes and alpine meadows with serious climbing and views of glaciers, and finish in Grindelwald itself, where the whole village turns out to cheer. There is also a kids' race and a 'trail surprise'. Grindelwald is the gateway to the Jungfrau region, the starting point for First and the Jungfraujoch, hikes to the Bachalpsee and rides on the Eiger Express gondola.
