The Half Marathon Empoli is an autumn race in the Tuscan town between Florence and Pisa, with a competitive 10 km and a 3 km cardio walk open to everyone. The start is on Via Roma, while the stage and festivities are in Piazza della Vittoria. The course is fast, flat and all on asphalt: Piazza Don Minzoni, Piazza Matteotti, the Lungarno Dante Alighieri and the cycle path along the Arno. After a difficult 2025 edition, the organisers worked with the town council and FIDAL to overhaul the race and gave entrants free registration for the following year. Empoli has the Collegiata di Sant'Andrea and Piazza Farinata degli Uberti, and just a few kilometres away lie Vinci, Leonardo's birthplace, and the Chianti hills.
