Eremitageløbet is one of Denmark's best-loved races: about 13 km through the hilly Dyrehaven deer park in early October. The course follows forest and meadow paths past the royal Eremitage hunting lodge, with hundreds of deer grazing nearby; the hills make it tough and the atmosphere festive. Dyrehaven is part of the UNESCO-listed Par Force Hunting Landscape; Bakken, Bellevue beach and central Copenhagen (20 minutes by train) are close.
