The Fiumicino Half Marathon is held in late November and reaches its 23rd edition in 2026, organised by the Isola Sacra club and the Municipality of Fiumicino. Alongside the half there is a competitive 10 km and a 10 km walk, making it a true community sports day. The start is at the parish of Santa Paola Frassinetti, and the course runs along Via del Faro and Via della Scafa, over the Ponte 2 Giugno and down Viale Traiano, out on the cycle path towards the sea and back through town — flat and fast. November weather by the sea is usually cool and changeable, which makes for ideal running. Fiumicino has the ruins of the ancient ports of Claudius and Trajan, fresh fish in trattorias along the canal and Rome just half an hour away.
