Fur Ultra takes place in March on the small island of Fur in the Limfjord: 25 and 50 km over hills, beaches and paths above the famous moler cliffs, with 55-million-year-old volcanic ash layers and fossils. The terrain is surprisingly demanding for Denmark, with fjord views on all sides. A short ferry from Branden gets you there; the island has a geology museum, the Fur Bryghus brewery and quiet fishing harbours.
