The Gdańsk Maraton is held in April and promises 'a running journey through history, modernity and seaside nature'. The flat course, with minimal climbing, runs from the Polsat Plus Arena through the heart of the Old Town — along the Long Market, where the crowds are loudest — to the green paths of Reagan Park by the sea. Besides the marathon there is a 5 km race, a marathon relay and kids' races. The flat profile and cool spring weather make it attractive for chasing a time. Afterwards: the National Maritime Museum, the Mewia Łacha reserve with its seals and birds, and Gdańsk food with fish and local beer.
