Granollers is the commercial and industrial hub of the Vallès Oriental region, about 30 km from Barcelona. Held since the 1980s, La Mitja draws over 11,000 runners across the 5K, 10K, and half marathon distances and also links the neighboring towns of Les Franqueses and La Garriga. The course is certified by both the Catalan athletics federation and the RFEA and is known as one of Spain's fastest, having hosted national record performances.
