The Kleine Zeitung Graz Marathon is a big running weekend in mid-October. The 33rd edition, in 2026, expected around 14,000 participants. There is something for everyone: marathon, half marathon, a 10.5 km quarter marathon, a 5 km city run, relays, Nordic walking and kids' races. The course winds through central Graz past its landmarks, and music stations along the way keep spirits up all the way to the finish. Graz is at its best in autumn, with the UNESCO-listed old town, the view from the Schlossberg, markets full of pumpkin-seed oil and the South Styrian wine roads close by.
