Marathon Groningen is a young race by Golazo: its first edition in 2026 drew more than 12,500 participants. Start and finish are on the Zernike campus, one of the most innovative in the country; the route crosses green outskirts, the Noorderplantsoen and Stadspark into the lively historic centre. Distances are the marathon, half and 10 km, with walks the day before. The event supports the Beatrix Children's Hospital. Groningen is a student city of canals, the Martinitoren and the Groninger Museum; evenings come alive on the Grote Markt.
