The Run2Day Halve van Haarlem takes place in late September, starting on the Grote Markt by St Bavo's church. In 2025 it drew nearly 14,000 runners across the half marathon, 10 km and 5 km plus kids' races; the half sells out early. Haarlem is one of the prettiest towns in Holland, 15 minutes from Amsterdam: the Frans Hals Museum, Teylers Museum, canals, De Adriaan windmill and Zandvoort beach half an hour away by bike.
