The Hackney Half takes place in mid-May and is one of the most popular races on London's calendar, run by the organisers of the Shoreditch and Oxford halves. The closed-road route goes through the heart of Hackney, East London's creative, green and wonderfully mixed borough. Live music, run-crew cheer zones and pacers line the way, so it feels like a giant street festival. Afterwards, enjoy street food at Broadway Market, the Regent's and Lee canals, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the bars of Shoreditch.
