The Half Marathon Licata Città di Mare is a young race on Sicily's south coast, organised by Atletica Licata each September at the end of the long Sicilian summer. There is a single distance — 21.1 km — on the FIDAL calendar, drawing runners from the province of Agrigento and across the island. The name says it all: Licata is a 'city of the sea', and the warm September breeze makes this start special. It is an intimate, welcoming event where the sea and Sicilian cooking await at the finish. Licata is known for its beaches and the Castel Sant'Angelo above the harbour, and the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento is less than an hour away.
