'Run to Europe' is a vertical stair race up 31 floors of Vilnius's Europa tower, billed as the tallest business building in the Baltics; the 2026 race was its 11th edition. It takes place in May around Europe Day, with a time limit of just 10 minutes: a short stretch over paving at the base, then endless flights of concrete stairs that set your legs on fire and leave you gasping. It's a different kind of running — short, powerful and honest — and the reward is a view over Vilnius from the top floors. The tower stands in the Šnipiškės business district on the right bank of the Neris, an easy walk from Cathedral Square and the UNESCO-listed baroque Old Town.
An easy run with a local club the day before the race — the best way to shake out the legs and meet the city.
