Björn Borg Helsinki Marathon takes place in late August, when the Finnish capital is still warm and light. Alongside the marathon there's a half, a 10 km and a 4 × 10.55 km marathon relay, suiting beginners and pros alike. The course is a single loop through the streets and seafronts of central Helsinki, with views of harbours, islands and parks. It's organised by Runner's High, who run several races in the city. Helsinki offers Suomenlinna, Uspenski Cathedral, the Design District, public saunas like Löyly and salmon soup at the Market Square.
