Hjarnø Backyard takes place in late August on the small island of Hjarnø, reached by a short ferry from Snaptun. Backyard format: a 6.7 km loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner is still going out. The loop crosses the island with fjord views, and at night runs under stars with no city glow. Hjarnø is known for Viking-age stone ships; Horsens and Juelsminde are nearby.
