The Horsens Backyard Ultra takes place in June. Backyard format: a 6.7 km loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner is still going out. You compete less against others than against yourself: many set out for 'one more loop' and find more in themselves than they expected. Horsens has the FÆNGSLET former-prison museum, summer concerts and an old harbour, with Horsens Fjord and the islands of Endelave and Hjarnø nearby.
