Hyundai Meia Maratona do Porto
Held since 2007 in mid-September, the Hyundai Porto Half Marathon has become one of Portugal's major running events: in 2025 more than 12,500 runners took part across the half and the 5 km mini race. The 9 am start is on Avenida Dom Carlos I in Foz, on a mostly flat out-and-back course. Runners pass the Fort of São João Baptista da Foz and Passeio Alegre garden and run beneath the Arrábida, Dom Luís I and Infante bridges over the Douro, switching between river and beach views before finishing where they started. Porto means São Bento station's azulejos, the Ribeira waterfront, Livraria Lello, francesinha and port tastings in the Gaia lodges.
