Semimaraton Iași

Semimaraton Iași takes place in late April and celebrated its tenth edition in 2026 with more than 3,000 participants. It is a race with a big heart, supporting the education of vulnerable children together with Salvați Copiii Iași and World Vision Romania. The half marathon and 10 km start and finish in the square before the neo-Gothic Palace of Culture, with a course through the historic centre, the university quarter and leafy Copou Park. Besides the main distances there is a 5 km, a 2.5 km fun run, a race for people with disabilities and a children's race, so the whole city turns out. Iași is the cultural capital of Moldavia: the Palace of Culture, the intricately carved Three Hierarchs Church, Eminescu's linden tree in Copou and excellent Moldavian cooking.
