The Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival is a spring trail festival run on the courses of the 2023 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships; every race sold out in 2026, and the next edition is on 5–8 May 2027. The menu is huge: a night trail and a vertical race, a 26.6 km trail half marathon, a 43.4 km marathon, ultras of 69 and 87 km and the 112.6 km 'Masters of Innsbruck' with some 5,500 m of climbing. The highlight is the Trail Hunt, an elite pursuit-format race with €30,000 in prize money. Courses climb from the city streets onto the Nordkette and high above the Inn valley, and aid stations serve fruit and regional Tyrolean treats as well as gels. Innsbruck has the Golden Roof, the Hofburg imperial palace, a cable car from the centre straight up the Nordkette and the Bergisel ski jump.
