Julsø Ultra takes place in April: 25 and 50 km through the forests and slopes around Lake Julsø near Silkeborg. The course passes Himmelbjerget ('the Sky Mountain'), one of Denmark's best-known heights with a tower and lake views, and climbs slopes you wouldn't expect in a flat country. Silkeborg is a lake town with the Tollund Man museum, the Museum Jorn and trips on the old paddle steamer Hjejlen.
