The Kaiserkrone Trail in Scheffau is a summer trail festival at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser; in 2026 it sold out with 1,187 runners from 37 nations. There are five races: a 56 km ultra with 3,640 m of climbing, a steep 24.7 km skyrace with 2,690 m, a 30 km panorama trail, a 20.7 km medium trail and an 8.3 km short trail, plus a kids' race. The routes cross limestone ridges and alpine meadows facing the jagged walls of the Kaiser, and the finish in Scheffau has a warm, emotional buzz. The Wilder Kaiser region offers hundreds of kilometres of hiking, the mountain lake Hintersteiner See, Tyrolean huts and nearby Kufstein with its fortress.
