The Raiffeisen Karrenlauf is a short, brutal hill race in Dornbirn organised by SC Gütle; in September 2026 it was held for the 23rd time. Runners climb 512 m in 3.6 km, starting opposite the Karrenseilbahn valley station and heading via the Südseitige Ach, Oberloch, Bürgle and the steep Stich/Hohlweg to the top station. There are categories without poles, a freerun with poles, Nordic walking on a shortened route and team rankings. At the top a viewing platform looks over the Rhine valley and Lake Constance. Dornbirn is Vorarlberg's largest town, with the Rappenloch gorge, the inatura museum and the cheese dairies of the Bregenz Forest close by.
