La Rochambelle

La Rochambelle is a legendary women's solidarity event in Caen (Normandy), named after the women ambulance drivers of General Leclerc's division. Around 10,000 participants in pink run or walk 3 or 5 km through the city, with proceeds funding research into women's cancers. It is part of the 'Marathon de la Liberté' weekend tied to the D-Day landings. An accessible, emotional and hugely popular race.
