Læsø Ultra takes place in September: from 10 km to 65 km across the flat but windy island of Læsø in the Kattegat — beaches, forest tracks, salt meadows and heath. Læsø is one of Denmark's most distinctive corners: sea salt is still boiled here, houses with seaweed-thatched roofs survive and the south of the island hosts large bird colonies. Ferries run from Frederikshavn.
