The Saucony London 10K is held every July and draws around 19,000 runners, from PB hunters to charity fundraisers and groups of friends. The fully closed-road route starts on Piccadilly, passes the capital's most famous sights and finishes on Whitehall, a stone's throw from Trafalgar Square and Westminster. A flat profile and short distance make it ideal for a fast time, and the organisers call it a street party with trainers on. Afterwards, stroll St James's Park, visit the National Gallery, walk the South Bank and graze at Borough Market.
