The Mitja VI-BA takes an unusual approach to the half-marathon format: organizers stress it isn't a competition at all, but a celebration of sport, wine, and the vineyards of the Pla de Bages region. The 21.1 km distance can be completed running or walking, with a generous 6-hour time limit. Along the way, participants get to sample wines from the D.O. Pla de Bages appellation, and costumes are encouraged for a festive atmosphere. The event is held as part of Manresa's Fira ViBa wine fair in Catalonia.
