Marathon de La Rochelle Serge Vigot

Marathon de La Rochelle Serge Vigot has been held on the last Sunday of November since 1991 and draws more than 10,000 participants — one of France's biggest marathons. It starts at the Old Port with its medieval towers, and the flat two-loop course alternates between the historic centre and the Atlantic waterfront. More than 30,000 spectators and bands every 1.5 km line the route, and there is a 10 km, relays for two and four and handisport races. La Rochelle means arcaded old streets, a huge aquarium, oysters and the bridge to the Île de Ré with its salt pans and cycle paths.
