Marathon Metz Mirabelle

The Metz marathon takes place in mid-October, with a programme of marathon, relays for two and four, half marathon, 10 km and kids' races. The marathon is a single loop with about 155 m of climbing: mostly urban, with a slightly tricky cobbled section, plus a pleasant rolling stretch through the countryside. The route follows the Moselle, passes the Gothic Saint-Étienne cathedral and goes through the Saint-Symphorien stadium, with music along the way. Metz offers Chagall's windows in the cathedral, the Centre Pompidou-Metz, a covered market and, of course, Lorraine mirabelle plums and quiche.
