Abalone Marathon de Nantes takes place in late April and will mark its 45th edition in 2027, drawing around 20,000 runners and thousands of spectators. On Saturday evening comes the night 10 km Foulées de l'Éléphant, and on Sunday the marathon, half marathon and a four-person corporate relay. The course is fully urban, threading through Nantes' heritage, and the routes have been completely redesigned for 2027. Nantes means the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany, the Machines de l'Île with their giant mechanical elephant, the Loire banks and Muscadet from nearby vineyards.
