Marathon International du Beaujolais

Marathon International du Beaujolais takes place in late November, just after the Beaujolais Nouveau celebrations, and holds its 22nd edition in 2026; around 33,000 people from 98 countries have taken part over the years. Besides the marathon there is a half, a 13 km, trails, a family run and a charity walk. The course rolls over vineyard hills through wine villages and cellars, and food is part of the race: a pasta party, tastings and a Sunday breakfast. It bills itself as a 'magic charity running festival', with its foundation giving over €200,000 to cancer research, and Beaujolais itself offers the Fleurie and Morgon crus, golden-stone villages and Lyon half an hour away.
